Old-Time and Folk Song Jam - led by Christen Blanton

Christen Blanton is a prize-winning traditional musician and committed arts educator. Her band, The Zinc Kings, have been performing traditional and original music together since 2010; they have won top prizes at fiddle festivals across North Carolina and been featured at the Eastern Music Festival Chamber Crawl, the Charlie Poole Festival, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, the Folk Alliance International Conference, and the North Carolina Folk Festival Music Spots. As the director of the Old-Time Ensemble at UNC-Greensboro, Christen has taught and mentored students of traditional music since 2016.

You can visit “Instrument Check” in room 203 of the Cultural Arts Center to have your instrument stored for you in a secure, temperature controlled area.

Instrument Check will be open during the following hours:

Saturday: 12pm - 9pm
Sunday: 12pm - 4pm
