Have you ever been to a beat show? Ever participated in a cypher? If you answered “no” to either of those questions, KatieBlvd and TheGentlemanBoss are here to get you hip! In short, it is a showcase of sample based music that can be likened to a mix 70s inspired soul/funk and jazz, the result being an elevated hip hop experience for your friends & family to enjoy! “A beat show series for peace” Beats.Batch is a homegrown, artist-created and artist-centered platform for beat makers and hip hop lovers alike. Calling Greensboro home, Beats.Batch throws shows every second Saturday of the month at venues throughout The Triad and Triangle regions.” Join KatieBlvd, TheGentlemanBoss and the rest of the Beats.Batch crew for the Folk Fest’s second ever beat show and cypher! Just like last year’s cypher hosted by TheGentlemanBoss, there will be a performance and time allotted at the end for members of the audience to sing, rhyme, or simply plug in and play!

Want to join in the jam, but don’t want to lug your instrument around all day?
You can visit “Instrument Check” in room 203 of the Cultural Arts Center to have your instrument stored for you in a secure, temperature controlled area.

Instrument Check will be open during the following hours:

Saturday: 12pm - 9pm
Sunday: 12pm - 4pm
