Open Mic - hosted by Matty Sheets

For Greensboro based multi-instrumentalist, Matty Sheets, music is medicine. He is a seasoned performer and host with a lot of feel-goods in his bag. Matty Sheets is a staple of the local Greensboro scene and has led Open Mics and Songwriting Circles in this city for over twenty years. Currently, he leads the weekly Green Bean Open Mic and monthly Flat Iron Open Mic. After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2016, he began a transition to writing and performing on Ukulele. He describes Music as his M.S. free zone, and the instrument has allowed him to be able to perform without the limitations of his diagnosis. His latest full length album release “ukuleles ‘til dawn” is streaming everywhere.

You can visit “Instrument Check” in room 203 of the Cultural Arts Center to have your instrument stored for you in a secure, temperature controlled area.

Instrument Check will be open during the following hours:

Saturday: 12pm - 9pm
Sunday: 12pm - 4pm
